Nice hostel with great environment and great location. Staff are brilliant, very helpful and friendly.

Great hospitality and the owner is extremely helpful. Would recommend to book a pick up service with the hostel in advance as it is not easy to walk up the hill if you have roller bags. They organize great city tour too.

walked all the way up the GIANT hill only to be moved to the city hostel! was a blessing in disguise to be fair as i dont think i could be faced to walk up that hill 2 or 3 times a day - especially in the summer heat. The city hostel was nice. Not much atmosphere but maybe that's because it was empty. Nice lounge and kitchen. The staff were really lovely. We were put in a four bed dorm and luckily there were only two of us as the room was simply tiny.

In a really nice neighbourhood, beautiful view of Sarajevo. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best hostel breakfasts I've had and it was free when booking online. Staff were very helpful and booked a minibus for me.

The person who is running the hostel was very friendly. The hostel just had a very friendly atmosphere.

The staff picked up from the bus station, which was so helpful. The owner Haris is a really lovely person. There was a free BBQ and welcome beer on the night that we got there. The hostel was very clean, great common room + kitchen, good showers, free hairdryer and computers. We went on Haris' tour of Sarajevo, which I cannot reccomend more! It was really interesting he had loads of really interesting stories and was full of local knowledge and history.

Haris, the owner, is absolutely awesome. He was funny and cooked a good breakfast every morning. I forgot my camera in the hostel, and he offered to mail it back to my address in the United States. Truly a standup guy. The view from the hostel is incredible, the common room is comfy, and it has a great atmosphere. People complain about the hill, but honestly, it's really not that bad.

Haris Youth Hostel has been one of the best hostels I have stayed at on my four months of travelling around Europe. It's a very warm and welcoming hostel and Haris has done an amazing job at adding his personal touches. From the moment I arrived he was more than welcoming and accomidating! He provided me with all the information needed to make my stay in Bosnia all the more enjoyable! I would be happy to recommend this hostel to anyone traveling in Bosnia! Thank you Haris.

Feels like home. So relaxed and the other travellers there are also really mellow and cruisy. The crowd that was there when I was, was great and stayed in most nights, drinking, playing chess/backgammon and having a chat.

The staff are very helpful. The common room area is really great for meeting people and the tour that Haris does is absolutely excellent! The view from the hostel is spectacular.

Haris is a really great guy, very helpful and his hostel has a really relaxed atmosphere in an amazing location just up the hill from the old town. Haris really made our stay, full of useful info about the area and Bosnia itself. Many thanks to him and his team :)

Haris and his sister are great hosts! We arrived at 8am and by 9am our room was ready for us. We had a private room which was very comfortable and clean. We were able to do our washing and book city tours with Haris as well. Haris actually takes the tour which I highly recommend! Very interesting and value for money.

Great common area

Nice cosy little hostel which is family run that feels more like a home than a hostel. Balcony is great for some arvo beers and pre drinking. Kitchen is big enough to get some epic masterchef action happening.

Haris, and his hostel, are BRILLIANT! From a very warm welcome and free bbq when I arrived, the day spent on the very interesting and informative tour, and then the night spent drinking and dancing with Haris and half the hostel.....loved every minute of my stay here.

Great hostel with a great atmosphere. It has a cool outside patio with a great view onto the city. Haris is a really good guy and make sure you go on his tour - you will probably learn a lot about Bosnia and the war.

Taso was an amazing host and tour-guide; not only was he cooking BBQ for us when we arrived, the next day he showed us the best bar in town! We really enjoyed Sarajevo because of him.

The property was large and spacious, with super friendly and helpful staff! The kitchen is large with good facilities, and the free shisha in the evening is perfect if you want to chill out!

I would definitely recommend this hostel to anybody who would like to enjoy the genuine hospitality of Sarajevo with the perfect view on the whole city ... oh yes, you have to climb a 'little' hill til you get to the hostel, but it's worth it.

Best thing about this place is Harris. He is a nice, knowledgeable guy who will help you with anything and then sit down for a beer & sheisha. Good communal area and kitchen facilities, WiFi, and very secure.

Great hostel run by a great guy in a great city. All the staff were brilliant and when you hear Haris' story you can really appreciate how good this hostel is. About 10min walk from the old city and although its a steep hill on the way back you soon get used to it and it is worth it for the view from the outdoor terrace. Was amazed at how much meat there was at the free Sunday BBQ - certainly not your average hostel meal size! Big kitchen and living room area great for meeting others in the evening. Would highly recommend Haris Tour which goes to areas of the city you otherwise couldn't reach. Slightly more expensive than many other hostels but worth the extra and then some.
