Originally known as Budget Backpackers, this Kick Ass hostel has been hosting travellers for over 15 years!
In 2019 we gave her a bit of TLC and she came out feeling as sharp as ever!
Completely refurbished and uniquely redesigned, Kick Ass Greyfriars is quirky, vibrant and full of personality!

Our awesome location is just a stone’s throw away from the famous Edinburgh Castle, in the heart of the famous Grassmarket area. We are only 5-10 minutes’ walk from the bus and train stations and the famous Haggis Tour routes.

In times of uncertainty and your peace of mind, we recommend you select a flexible rate with free cancellation. If your plans change, you can always cancel free of charge until the cancellation expires.
The minimum check-in age is 18 years.
Guest who are 16 and 17 years old are permitted to stay only if accompanied by persons 18 years old or older in a 1:1 ratio and IN PRIVATE ROOMS ONLY.
16 and 17 year olds are not permitted to share dorms with persons outside of their family or party.
Under 18s are not allowed in the hostel bar after end of food service.
No guest under the age of 16 is permitted to stay in Kick Ass Hostel.
Any guest arriving who is under the age of 16 regardless if accompanied by an adult (over 18) will be refused entry to the Hostel.
We do not accept 3rd party cards. We check cards against photo ID on arrival.
We require valid photo identification upon check-in, suitable forms of ID: A Valid Passport or National ID
