Aras is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, offering accomodation in 19 rooms, 16 of which are en-suite. The ambiance is that of a home from home. We offer either a cereal and toast or a full Irish breakfast and for self-catering guests we have a fully equipped kitchen with all amenities.
We are a 15 minute drive from Slieve League; the highest sea cliffs in Ireland and possibly Europe. The beaches are pristine and very scenic with an abundance of walking trails crossing the mountains.

The name Aras Ghleann Cholm Cille is derived from the area which is named after St Columba, widely credited for bringing Christianity to the area as well as to Scotland. He lived in the valley for 2 years some time around 500 AD.
His nickname was "the Church Dove" or Cholm Cille in Gaelic.
